Broken Barrel Whiskey is one of our favorite innovative distilleries because they're never afraid to try something new. For example, the team believes that barrels influence roughly 80% of the final flavor of a whiskey. But instead of finishing the whiskey inside of barrels, they explored what happens when the exact opposite is done- finishing its whiskey with broken barrel staves. Yes, they put wood into the whiskey - and the results were unbelievable.
The creative and cultured CEO of Broken Barrel Whiskey has always seen things a bit differently. That’s how Seth Benhaim became the youngest entrepreneur in the 15-year history of the San Francisco World Spirits Competition to win a Double Gold / Best in its Category award with his first venture into the spirits industry in 2014. Seth began the company in his grandmother's garage. By flipping the term “flavored” on its head, Seth’s inspiring infusion methods aim to change the industry by creating an entirely new way to experience spirits with natural, truer flavors, and Broken Barrel Whiskey is no exception. Seth’s passion and determination make him a formidable master 'barrel' blender, as he tackles challenges with enthusiasm, and shares his whiskey concepts and cocktails with everyone he meets.
Broken Barrel Whiskey Co. Cornucopia Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Brandy Cask Staves. This is a unique and exclusive label for Taster's Club and will not be released in any stores, so it’s truly a unique bottle. This release of the Cornucopia triple brandy cask stave release was inspired by a flight Seth had put together back in 2020 for a tasting competition. The flight he prepared was dubbed Cornucopia, and it featured three whiskeys, each brandy cask finished with brandy distilled from different fruit. This expression is Broken Barrel's version of this, but all encompassed into one bottle.
With flavors of warming sweet stewed fruits, sour candies, and pie crust, this is a beautiful bourbon whiskey to pair with a meal or dessert.
