Inspired by Mexico´s post-revolutionary period, Severo Tequila evokes an era following severe hardship and struggle that led to a profound political, social and cultural transformation, which ended up clearly defining the country’s national identity. Don Roberto Orendain started the Tequilera Don Roberto in 1924 during the post-Mexican Revolution period, and it’s one of the last two proud heritage tequila businesses still owned by Mexicans (Cuervo is the other). The distillery’s Master Distiller, the founder’s son, has more than 70 years of tequila-making experience. Co-Master Distiller Stella Anguiano, formerly from Cuervo, is one of a growing number of female master distillers in the industry.

The Reposado is aged for 10 months in ex-Bourbon barrels, and it’s favored because the vegetal agave notes persist but are rounded out by the barrel treatment. Its aromatic notes are reminiscent of fresh vanilla bean, maple syrup, and rich caramel, and the taste shows a seamless and engaging velvety texture, with a stout bouquet and medium–long finish.
