Since 1950, Caballito Cerrero has been making distinct agave-based spirits and this is a delicious addition to their lineup. Founded by Don Alfonso Jiménez Rosales (a co-founder of Herradura who set out on his own), El Caballito Cerrero uses agave chato in their spirits. A cousin of the Espadin agave, this unique variety was traditionally used before blue agave became a requirement for tequila labeling. On the palate, this is creamy and smooth with notes of cinnamon, black pepper, and nutty tones.
