This single-village artisanal mezcal is handcrafted in Santiago Matatlán by local maestro mezcaleros and agave expert David Ravandi. It begins with 100% organic agave, grown at high altitude (5,600 ft) and harvested only at full maturity for peak flavor. The agave piñas are roasted in charred pit ovens and crushed by a traditional stone tahona, ensuring a depth of character in every drop. After natural fermentation, the liquid is twice-distilled in copper pot stills, resulting in a clean, robust spirit. The bottle features a label inspired by the Aztec Goddess Mictecacihuatl, symbolizing strength and influence—qualities mirrored in this exceptional spirit.
