This small-batch release pays homage to the Portuguese heritage of the Antigua Distillery Limited founders. The English Harbour Antigua Rum Port Cask Finish marries the tropical vibrancy of Caribbean rum with the deep, fortified character of the Douro Valley. The process begins with a base of 5-year-old rum, enriched by a 5% addition of 10-year-old stock for added depth. This blend then rests for six to eight months in seasoned Royal Oporto Vintage Tawny Port casks, resulting in a spirit that is both complex and historically resonant.

In the glass, the rum displays a striking amber hue with delicate pink undertones. The nose offers an intricate bouquet of dried fruit, prunes, and nuttiness, eventually opening up to reveal dried citrus peel and a kick of ginger. Tasting brings a wave of warmth, where flavors of dried prunes and ginger blend seamlessly with mid-palate notes of leather, cracked black pepper, and forest fruit.
