La Venenosa Etnica Tutsi Maguey Masparillo with Decorative Box

Some spirits are made to be enjoyed. This one was made to survive. La Venenosa Étnica Tutsi Raicilla is a living document of Mexico's most sacred agave traditions—bottled in 750 ml of liquid that almost didn't exist.

For 25 years, the Tutsi recipe was feared gone, tucked away in the ceremonial knowledge of the Wixárika (Huichol) people, with no guarantee it would ever resurface. Then Don Rafael Carrillo Pizano—the sole active Maestro Tabernero practicing this ancestral craft—brought it back. Working in a way that hasn't changed in centuries, he produces just two or three 45-liter batches per year. That's roughly 100 liters for the entire world.

Curated by founder "Chef" Esteban Morales under the La Venenosa label, the Étnica series exists for one reason: to ensure that the agave knowledge of Mexico's indigenous communities isn't swallowed by time. Every bottle you hold is part of that effort—a cultural artifact as much as a spirit.
