Defiantly a bottle to keep on the shelf. Maker's really has a somewhat distinct flavor profile to my palate, with the Cask Strength 7-year adding a nuanced layer of strength and depth to the flavors and just the right heat to enjoy over a fat ice cube without feeling like it gets too diluted by the time the pour is done. I'm sure it makes for fantastic cocktails as well, although I am mostly a neat and on the rocks drinker, where I think it shines.
