Rejon Tequila Extra Añejo is the result of three generations of dedication, patience, and an unwavering respect for the agave plant. Produced by Rivesca, a family-owned distillery with roots in cattle ranching in the Low Lands of Jalisco, this expression spends 5 to 9 years maturing in a combination of charred American oak barrels from Jack Daniels and used French cognac barrels—a pairing that layers rich vanilla and caramel depth with delicate floral and dried fruit complexity. The Low Lands terroir lends subtle mineral and grassy undertones, while the natural sweetness of the agave takes center stage, a result of a meticulous harvesting process that removes the green outer leaves and the bitter capullo. To coax out even more character, the cut agave rests for several months before processing, allowing wild, ambient yeast—not artificial—to work its magic. No shortcuts, no additives. Just tequila made the way it was meant to be.
