Don Oscar Obregón is a mezcalero through-and-through. He's the 4th generation of mezcal distillers in the family, famous for his attention to detail. He crafts his spirit in Sierra Madre Oriental using 100% agave cupreata. These take between 7 and 10 years to mature beside an oak forest. After the plants are sustainably harvested, they are meticulously cooked in an underground pit for 4 days, crushed in a mechanical mill, open-air fermented for 3 days, and double-distilled in copper-pot stills ― with the mezcalero watching over each detail at his fábrica. Bottled at 90 proof, this mezcal is full of character.
