We feature a wide variety of rums, with unique ingredients and production techniques. We feature rum from around the world, from the US to the carribean, bringing you variations such as Agricole rum, dark rum or rhum, no-spiced rum, and barrel-aged rum. We even have access to unique barrel selections, so you know you’re getting something special. 

Rum, a distilled drink made from fermented sugarcane or molasses, has a typical alcohol concentration of 40% ABV. Some rum is “overproof,” meaning that it has alcohol concentration of at least 57.5% ABV

A Rum Club is a membership that delivers a bottle (or several) to your door regularly, usually monthly or quarterly. For example, with Taster’s Club, you’ll receive a bottle once a month. We also offer a 3-pack option, so you’ll receive three bottles at once- no need to wait! We’re continually expanding our networks and strengthening our relationships with distilleries and brands around the world. Our Curator dedicates himself to seeking out the most unique, hard-to-find bottles from lesser-known and award-winning craft and artisan distilleries. Rums are chosen for their unique production styles, inspiring stories, pure ingredients, and barrel finishes. We occasionally offer bottles Exclusive to Taster’s Club with limited production and availability, so you know you’re getting something special. 

There are only two basic rules for gin. One, it must include flavor from juniper berries. And two, it must be bottled at a strength of at least 40% ABV (80 proof). This is much different from other styles of spirits such as bourbon, which have considerably more specific and involved legal definitions. However, the better quality gin which is labeled “distilled gin” is produced through the redistillation of botanicals.

Because rum is made from sugar cane, the underlying flavor profile is sweet, toasted sugar. Some rums offer a more tropical flavor like bananas or coconut, while others are spicy, smoky, or earthy. We especially love the characteristics of rum aged in oak or charred oak casks, imparting wide and complex flavor profiles. Some even appeal to Bourbon fans with spicy flavors. All of our featured rums are excellent for sipping or mixing in cocktails- the possibilities are endless. 

We search out the rarest and hard-to-find rum bottles to share with you- from Central America to the French islands to all across Europe. Each distillery we work with has a unique story to share, and we’re continually impressed with the passion and craftsmanship that goes into each of their products. Every selection is accompanied by a Digital 101, so you can learn all about the distillery, the bottle, why we chose it, and recommendations on how to drink it. Rum is an alcoholic distillate from the fermented juice of sugar cane, sugar cane syrup, sugar cane molasses, or other sugar cane by-products.

Rum is made much like other spirits. However, the most important step is that the sugar cane is harvested properly- cut close to the ground and milled quickly after harvesting because this is when the sugar content is highest. It’s then boiled and rendered down quickly before it starts to ferment. Rum is distilled in pot stills, blended, and then aged for one to four years before being bottled. It’s produced at less than 190 proof and bottled at not less than 80 proof.

We always recommend that you begin by sipping the rum straight so you can fully appreciate the beverage’s depth and intensity.

We currently ship to 45 of the lower 48 states in the continental US. We don’t currently ship to the following states: Alaska, Hawaii, Kentucky, Utah, or Mississippi. Currently, we only ship within the continental US.

Monthly Subscriptions: We ship twice each month. If you make your order before the 1st of the month, your full-sized bottle is shipped between the 5th and the 15th of every month. If your order is made between the 1st- 14th, your first bottle will be shipped out between 18-28 of the month. We’ll email tracking information once your shipment is scanned in by the carrier, and you’ll receive your bottle within 3 to 5 business days of that date.

Bottle Shop: Our vendors usually require 1-5 business days to prepare your Bottle Shop order, but shipping times might vary according to your delivery address and availability of the items in your order. Typically orders once processed will be delivered within 3-5 business days. We’ll always email your tracking details that include an estimated delivery date once it’s left our warehouse. Keep in mind that if you order multiple items, such as a Bottle Shop purchase and a Monthly Alcohol Subscription, they may ship separately.If a shipment will be late due to external reasons or inclement weather, we’ll keep you updated via email. If you are unavailable during the estimated date of delivery, please reach out to us at info@tastersclub.com to make other arrangements.

Yes, we work with most national and regional carriers, all of which require an adult over the age of 21 to sign for the delivery. We recommend shipping to a workplace if you won’t be home.

Once you complete your checkout there will be a confirmation email sent to your email with details about your purchase. A Welcome Email will be sent to the gift recipient's email address, which you can provide at checkout.
When the shipment is ready to leave our warehouse, we’ll email the gift recipient a tracking number. Shipments usually take 3 to 5 business days to arrive, and deliveries are typically made during business hours.

If there’s a delay due to carrier issues or inclement weather, we’ll send the gift recipient an email with info on when to expect their shipment.

The date that your Rum of the Month Club is created will be your billing date for the duration of your membership.
